Over a period of time without regular cleaning and polishing gelcoat will fade from UV and grime build up. If the GRP is badly faded and oxidised a machine buff is required. This step is the most time-consuming and labour-intensive. Applying the wax and buffing it requires some elbow grease, but the results are worth it to protect your boat.
